"Prunus Necrotic Ringspot Virus, (PNRSV), is a viral disease that causes ringspots of Peach, cherry, rose, and hops, and mosaic diseases in apple, plum and rose.

PNRSV is transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by grafting; not transmitted by contact between plants; transmitted by seed; transmitted by pollen to the seed and transmitted by pollen to the pollinated plant.  Because the virus is transmitted by pollen, other trees in the orchard are easily infected at bloom in the spring.
