BELLA VISTA — Do you have a green thumb and a beautiful yard to prove it?

Then pick up an application for the Village Pride Committee’s annual Yard of the Year contest.

The yard may be professionally landscaped but must have been maintained by the Bella Vista homeowner for at least three years, according to a Property Owners Association news release.

Applications, which must be submitted by May 15, are available on the Property Owners Association’s Web site, www.bellavistapoa.com, and at the Bella Vista Country Club, Riordan Hall, Branchwood Recreation Center, the Membership Services Department and The Weekly Vista office.

Preliminary judging will be June 17. Final judging by professional landscapers will be June 23.

Winners will be announced June 30. The top three winners will receive prizes donated by Garden City, Village Home Center and Village Landscaping. A reception for all applicants will follow the Aug. 4 Village Pride Committee meeting, according to the release.

Signs will be placed in the yards of the first, second and third place winners. The winners also will be able to keep the signs.
